Spring Sale
Rain Barrels, Compost Bins, and Kitchen Bins will be for sale at the Earth Day Festival and at City Hall starting April 27th (while supplies last). Make sure to get yours!

Eyeglasses & Hearing Aid Donations
The City of Wetaskiwin Earth Day Festival has joined the non-profit Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre (CLERC) to collect your old eyeglasses, sunglasses, and hearing aids for developing countries around the world! 

The CLERC will take in your glasses or hearing aids that are: broken, missing parts, prescription, non-prescription, sunglasses, and hearing aids.

The City of Wetaskiwin will be collecting glasses & hearing aids at the below locations from February 5th - May 1st and at the Earth Day Festival event on Saturday, April 25

Green Business Competition (GBC)

Does your business take extra steps to be more sustainable?? If so, you'll have a chance to tell us about them! Nominated businesses will be voted on by the public to determine who deserves recognition for the year.
This year's winner will win: 

• FREE Business License Renewal for 2021

• Free table at the Earth Day Festival

• 1st Place Certificate

• Announcement in the local newspaper, Facebook, and on the City Website!

• Bragging rights for the year

Nominations begin March 2020.

Up-Cycle Contest
Create a project using at least 75% upcycled or used materials to be voted on at the Earth Day Festival by people's choice. Make sure to register by April 17thThis year's winner will win:

• Bragging rights for the year
• A FREE rain barrel

• A $100 VISA gift

• A picture of their project posted on the City website & Facebook page!

Take It or Leave It
The "Take It or Leave It" program is back for a 4th year! Bring your gently used items to leave for someone else to take and browse other peoples items to take for yourself, all free-of-charge.

Drop-off's begin at 9am on the south side of Arena 1. There will be absolutely NO PARKING in the drop-off zone, parking is provided on the north side of the building in the main parking lot.
